Introduction

6th Workshop of Ecological and Behavioral Physiology: Climatic change and environmental stressors

CHASCOMUS, 5 – 7 MARZO 2025

In its first edition, in 2013, the main objective of the workshoop of Ecological and Behavioral Physiology was to generate an interdisciplinary space for scientific exchange that would contribute to deepen the knowledge on the diversity of physiological and behavioral responses of organisms to a changing environment.

In subsequent meetings, ecological and behavioral physiology studies were also involved in the design of management and conservation plans. This space for discussion was received with great interest by local and foreign researchers, who develop this interdisciplinary perspective in their projects and usually had to present their results in scientific meetings, such as those of ornithology, mastozoology, herpetology, entomology, ecology and others, where the interest in Ecological and Behavioral Physiology brings together a reduced number of researchers in relation to other sub-disciplines.

Thus, from a cross-cutting perspective in terms of theoretical framework, methodological tools, taxonomic groups and levels of analysis, subsequent editions of the Workshop have increasingly attracted new interested researchers who have found a space for enriching discussion and debate.

In the VI edition of the Workshop, we propose to continue with the guidelines of previous meetings, emphasizing the discussion of the relationship between the mechanisms underlying physiological processes and patterns at different ecological levels, with a special focus on the effects of climate change and environmental stressors on biodiversity conservation in the region.

We hope to see you in Chascomús!
